Fatal collision in Kings County
At 6:44 p.m. on November 20, a passing motorist notified police that a truck had left the road and was in the ditch off Hwy. 12. RCMP, Fire, and EHS personnel attended the scene and found the driver of the vehicle had been ejected and was deceased. The three other occupants of the vehicle were treated by EHS on scene with unknown injuries. The road conditions were reported to be snow covered at the time.
An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist was called to examine the scene for evidence, and the investigation is ongoing. Highway 12 was closed for several hours but has since re-opened. The RCMP was assisted at the scene by the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal with the road closure and detour.
Our thoughts are with the victim's family at this difficult time.
