Halifax Police charge driver in vehicle-pedestrian collision

Halifax Regional Police have charged the driver in a vehicle-pedestrian collision that happened on Sunday evening in Halifax.

Police say that at around 6:00 p.m., on April 30, police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the intersection of South and Henry Streets.

The vehicle was heading westbound on South Street and struck a pedestrian who was crossing in a marked crosswalk.

The 20-year-old pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police issued a summary offence ticket to the 73-year-old driver of the vehicle for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
