Halifax police lay charges in stabbing incident at high school in Bedford

Halifax Regional Police have charged a youth in relation to a stabbing incident that took place on March 20, 2023, at Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford.

Police say that at approximately 9:20 a.m., officers responded to a weapons complaint at the high school. A youth, who was a student at the school, stabbed two employees inside the school and then fled the building.

Police took the youth into custody in the area at around 9:31 a.m.

According to police, the two employees are in the hospital receiving treatment and are in a serious but stable condition. The youth was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds.

The 15-year-old youth is facing the following charges:
• Attempted murder (2x)
• Aggravated assault (2x)
• Possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (2x)
• Carrying a concealed weapon (2x)
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Possession of a weapon knowing it is unauthorized
• Mischief
