Halifax police say a badge has been stolen

Halifax Regional Police say a badge has been stolen from one of their officers.

The officer reported that their wallet, which contained the badge, was stolen from the parking lot of Goodlife Fitness on Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax, between 7:45 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2023.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the badge.

"Police remind members of the public that possession of police-issued equipment by the public is prohibited by law. Additionally, Nova Scotia’s Police Identity Management Act carries penalties for unlawful possession of police articles," the police said in a release.
