Police investigate two robberies in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two robberies that took place in Dartmouth.

Police say that on Nov. 1, 2023, at around 5:10 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that took place at Needs Convenience located at 100 Highfield Park Drive.

According to police, a man with a knife entered the store, threatened the employee, and demanded money and cigarettes. Police say the suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as white, in his twenties, with dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jogging pants with red lettering, white sneakers, and a black and white bandana.

Police are also investigating a robbery that took place on Nov. 2, 2023, at around 4:34 a.m., at the Ultramar located at 640 Windmill Road.

Police say that a man, with what is believed to be a firearm, entered the store, threatened the employee, and demanded money and cigarettes. According to police the suspect fled on foot with a quantity of cigarettes.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s to 30s, approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, with a thin build, black hair, and a goatee. He was wearing a gold jacket, black pants, and gray sneakers.

According to police there is some evidence to suggest that the suspect is the same for both robberies.
