Two charged with drug and weapon offences after search of Greenwood home

The Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit charged two people with drug and weapon offences after police executed a search warrant at a home in Greenwood.

Police say that on Feb. 8, 2024, the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Kings District RCMP General Investigation Section, the Kentville Police Service General Investigation Section, the Kings District RCMP, and the RCMP Police Dog Services, executed a search warrant at a home on Glasgow Avenue.

Police safely arrested one woman at the home and then located and seized a taser. The woman was later released without charges.

According to police, another man and a woman were arrested a short time later during a targeted traffic stop. Police say officers located and seized cocaine, hydromorphone, scales, cash, and cellular phones.

Stephen George, 34, from Greenwood and Lytora MacArthur, 30, from Kingston have been charged with:
• Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (two counts);
• Unauthorized possession of prohibited weapon;
• Possession of prohibited weapon knowing its possession is unauthorized;
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

Both accused were released on conditions and are scheduled to appear in Kentville Provincial Court on April 17, 2024, at 9:30 a.m.
