DARTMOUTH, NS

Halifax police are asking for help from the public to identify the suspect in a robbery that took place in Dartmouth earlier in the week.

Police say that on Jan. 1, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a robbery in the 0-100 block of Portland Street in Dartmouth.

A man approached a woman who was at a bank machine, assaulted her, and took her property. The man then fled the area on foot. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a white man in his thirties, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black three-quarter-length felt coat, a grey hooded sweater, and a grey toque.

The investigation is ongoing by members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
