Halifax police investigate after woman has her backpack stolen

Halifax Regional Police are investigating a robbery that took place on March 21, 2022.

According to police, at around 12:50 a.m., officers responded to a report that a man had stolen a backpack from a woman. The woman was waiting for a friend in the 1700 block of Barrington Street when a vehicle pulled up beside her. A man got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and grabbed the woman's backpack. The man then got back in the vehicle which fled the area.

Upon investigation, police discovered that one of the victim's credit cards had been used at a gas station in Dartmouth.

Police describe the suspect as a white man with a slim build, wearing a dark coat.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a white man with short dark hair.

The vehicle is described as a white four-door sedan.
