Halifax police investigate hit and run that injured 14-year-old cyclist

Police are investigating a hit and run that occurred in Halifax on June 23.

Officers responded to a report of a collision between a motorist and a cyclist that occurred at approximately 4 p.m. in the 1400 block of Oxford Street in Halifax. The driver stopped briefly then left the area. The cyclist, a 14-year-old youth, was transported to hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is described as a white man in his 50s with a scar on the side of his neck. The vehicle is described as a blue Mazda or Subaru with British Columbia license plates.
