Halifax police investigate pair of robberies involving knife and firearm

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two robberies that took place in Halifax on Jan. 12, 2023.

Police say that officers responded to two separate robberies at around 5:20 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. in the areas of the 1500 block of Brunswick Street and the 5400 block of Spring Garden Road.

In both incidents, two men approached a man who was not known to them and demanded his property. One of the men presented a knife and a firearm. In both cases, the suspects fled the area on foot, empty-handed.

The suspect with the weapons is described as Indigenous, in his 30s to 40s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, wearing a dark puffy jacket, dark pants, and carrying a yellow backpack.

The second suspect is described as white, with a beard, wearing a brown winter jacket, and brown pants, and carrying a red bag.
