Halifax RCMP investigating fatal motorcycle collision in Upper Tantallon

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a July 31 motor vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy. 103 in Upper Tantallon.

Police say that on July 31, at approximately 7:15 p.m., they were notified of the collision. Police, fire and EHS attended the scene where it was determined that a motorcycle had been travelling east on Hwy. 103, when it suddenly left the roadway.

The motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries and LifeFlight attended the scene. The rider, a 70-year-old man from Lower Sackville, succumbed to his injuries before he could be transported to hospital.

The motorcycle passenger, a 51-year-old woman from Lower Sackville, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and police are continuing the investigation.
