Police investigate morning shooting in Dartmouth

Halifax police news

On October 27, at approximately 8:45 a.m., police responded to shots fired on Leaman Drive in Dartmouth. A man shot at a parked vehicle and then fled the area. At this time, there have been no reported injuries, and at this stage of the investigation, we believe the shooting is not a random incident.

Streets in the area were temporarily closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic in part due to the proximity of the incident to John McNeil Elementary School. The area has been reopened but officers remain in the area as the investigation continues.

Police thank the public for their cooperation and patience.
