Bridgewater police charge Brandon John Sarty with child pornography offences

Bridgewater Police Service has charged a Bridgewater man with child pornography offences following the execution of search warrants on August 5.

On Thursday, August 5, Bridgewater Police Service, with the assistance of the RCMP Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit, RCMP Digital Forensic Services (DFS) Unit, South Shore Street Crime Unit, and the RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS), executed two search warrants at different residences on north King Street in Bridgewater for electronic devices.

Brandon John Sarty has been charged with:
• Possession of Child Pornography (Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada)
• Transmitting and Making Available Child Pornography (Section 163.1(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada)

Police do not believe that the victims of these offences are local.

Sarty was also charged with possession of cocaine and methamphetamine.

Sarty appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on August 5, and was released on conditions.
