Windsor District RCMP arrests five people following police pursuit

Nova Scotia RCMP have arrested two men and three women following a police pursuit yesterday morning.

At approximately 11 a.m. March 7, RCMP received information that a man with an outstanding warrant was travelling on the 101 Hwy in Lower Sackville towards Windsor in a black Honda Civic. Members from Windsor, General Investigation Section (GIS), Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) and Annapolis Valley Traffic Services (AVTS) located the suspect vehicle near Hantsport and they activated their emergency equipment near Lockhartville.

The suspect vehicle continued on, refusing to stop. The pursuit ended onto Dan Jordan Rd. in Melanson, Kings Co. where the driver stopped the car and fled along with four passengers.

Three female passengers were arrested at the scene without incident. The driver and another passenger were located nearby and were arrested without incident.

The driver, Morgan Allen Ross, 24, from Greenwood, is currently in police custody and will be appearing this morning in Kentville Provincial Court for the following charges:

· Dangerous Operation

· Flight from Peace Officer

· Operation While Prohibited

A 23 year-old man from Dartmouth, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested on an outstanding warrant and was released from custody.

The three females were released from custody with no charges.
