Yarmouth Rural RCMP respond to shooting, suspect arrested

At 7:30 p.m. last evening, Yarmouth Rural RCMP responded to a call about a 34 year-old man who indicated he had been shot.

Members responded and the injured male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. The initial investigation determined the man had been shot by another man who then fled the home. RCMP Police Dog Services were called out to assist. A short time later, the suspect was located at a home on Main Shore Rd.

Police have contained the area. The RCMP Emergency Response Team has been deployed and citizens are asked to avoid the area at this time. The suspect was arrested at approximately 9 a.m. on March 27. This was not a random act as both parties were known to one another.
